Important Shipping Information Kamados are typically shipped by common carrier (truck line) in a sturdy wooden crate using the most economical and safest truck lines . The most economical way to receive your Kamado is to pick it up at one of the carriers nationwide Service Centers. Home delivery using a truck equipped with a lift-gate is available for an additional charge which varies depending upon what part of the country you live in. In most areas the additional residential delivery charge is $50 to $100.00. The total shipping charges will be provided at the time of the order and confirmed at the time of shipment. Also, you need to be aware that these are transportation company and not a warehouse. This means that most carriers will likely assess storage charges of $57.25/day, 72 hours after the barbecue has arrived at the destination service center. The day after we ship your barbecue to you we will email or call you with the tracking number (known as the Pro number in the trucking world) and provide you with the telephone number of the trucking company service center to which your barbecue is being shipped. We recommend that you call them a few days before your barbecue is due to arrive to tell them that you are expecting a shipment. We never ship a barbecue without first contacting the expectant owner, so if you decide to go on vacation the day after you have told us to ship your barbecue (this has happened!), you are responsible for the storage and/or reshipping charges The location of the carriers service center nearest your home will be provided to you at the time of the order or when the most economical carrier is determined as well as the estimated time in route. In the Southern California area we have contracted with All Purpose Warehouse (619) 611-1171 for very special rates for direct shipments from our factory in Ensenada, Mexico to your home or business with lift-gates. Most driver are knowledgeable and helpful with your Kamado. You may also pick up your Kamado, Kamado Charcoal and accessories at their warehouse in San Diego when completed. They are most helpful in assisting you in loading your product. All Purpose Warehouse is located at 2310 Otay Center Drive, San Diego 92154 Even with the excellent service that we receive from our trucking companies it is possible for your Kamado to become damaged in-transit. It is important that you understand that if you accept delivery of a damaged item there is very little that can be done in terms of compensation. We recommend that you carefully inspect your Kamado, while it is still in the crate, before accepting delivery. Look for damage to the wooden crate which could indicate that is has been run into by a forklift or perhaps has been dropped. If you see damage of this nature it might be wise to refuse delivery and the carrier will contact us for instructions. You also should understand that we are acting as your agent in shipping your barbecue. We have negotiated a very good rate for you to ship our barbecues but, ultimately, there are two parties that are involved once the crated barbecue is loaded on the truck; The truck line and you. When the carrier accepts the fact that the barbecues leave our factory undamaged, so if there is damage, it surely happened in-transit. If there is a problem we will do our very best to assist you in your dealings with any damage claims. Of course, if there is a problem that is our fault we will take responsibility for the remedy. If a tile here or there has come off, this is not necessarily a cause for concern or refusing the shipment. This happens occasionally and the tiles can be reattached quite easily with material that we will be happy to provide - just call us. After reading all of this, don't worry! Problems are rare.
