New "2008" Model Kamado 2008 Kamado
Kamado Distribution Company is please to announce our new 2008 Kamado. There are subtitle but important improvements design and formula changes that we have made. The Kamado’s beautiful exterior shape remains unchanged. Some of the new features are described below. · Increase in Operating Temperature. The “Hot Face” which is described as the inside walls of the Kamado (or other furnaces/kilns) that are subject to extreme heat is now formulated from a ceramic material that can withstand excessive heat and continuous operation. We have used much the same formula and process that has been highly successful for over 23 years in the Meridian Stoves and Fireplace Inserts. As you know, our Meridian Stoves are subject to tremendous wood heat and are often used 24 hours a day during winter months. Many of our Kamados are now used commercially daily and very often by customers subjecting Kamados to very high temperatures in cooking Pizzas and “Flame Searing”. We decided to use this protective formula for all future Kamados as well as the Meridians. · New Band “Seat”. On the #5 and #7 Kamados there is a new seat or channel cast into the Lid and Base to hold the heavy bands in place without slipping. Later “Band Adjustments” will rarely if ever be necessary. A cautionary tightening of the four band bolts should be done when necessary. · Improved Tile Bonding. New formula and method for setting tile improves tile adhesion. Sealing the tile is still recommended after initial break-in. · Attention to Details. Tripling the man hours in tiling and finishing details. Great detail is now taken to complement the aesthetics of the 2008 Kamado. · Highest Standard Fabrication. Stainless Steel fabrication is now “Tig” welded instead of “Mig” welding. Tig welding requires much more time and skill but results in a much finer in appearance and can be compared to “aircraft quality”.
·
Stronger Cart.
Metal framework built into the ceramic much heavier. · Stronger Cart Casters. · Damper Top. A new metal alloy is now used to for the Damper Top Rod that helps prevent rust which restricts free turning for temperature control. A minimum of cleaning/maintenance is still required. · Heaver Heat Resistant Gasket. The heaver gasket helps the tight seal between the Lid and Base for better heat control. · Additional Handles on Cooking Grill. Two handles on either side of the cooking grill for removing or setting the grill in place and one handle to raise the “flip up” section to allow access to the firebox and charcoal. · Solid Teak Handle & Knob. New Options: · Built in Temperature Controller Manifold Port. For Guru or other temperature controller there is a manifold built into the base of all Kamados. A special tile hides the manifold and can easily be removed to install the blower and controls at a later time or factory installed mounting plate. (Picture) · Gas Burner Manifold. The Kamado Gas Burner has a receptacle (pipe) that is cast in the base at the appropriate height. This tube is hidden by tile similar to the temperature controller (Guru or other). The tile can easily be removed and the new burner can be screwed into the gas valve. Pictures on request.. · Gas Burner Accessory. Built in Gas Burn option. The burner and manifold is mounted on the wall of the base instead of part of the Draft Door. Pictures on request. · Heavy Steel Bar Firebox. Heavy steel bar Firebox, in place of ceramic Firebox.
